I stumbled upon Nancy Mello while scrolling through instagram one day, and needless to say, I was intrigued. She’s a pet psychic, medium, and communicator. Even if you don’t believe that people can have psychic abilities, you gotta admit she (and her work) is fascinating. I sent her the big five Qs and she was gracious and lovely in her reply.

Tell us a little bit about your background as a psychic, medium, & animal communicator? WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART, and what is the scope of services you offer?

I connect with animals that have passed over and living animals as well. I have talked to everything from a tree snake, a groundhog, squirrel, to a cockatiel and everything in between. Sometimes when connecting with pets or people that have passed over, pets as far back as childhood will come to say hello. It's a beautiful thing to be a part of and it shows that the bond with our animals is always present.

Do you have clients that return every week or so?

I do have clients that I speak to every month. Some pet parents call it their, "pet therapy" and I am on very good friends with a parrot named Watson in Southern California. Watson had been abused before coming to his forever home. His new mom contacted me within days, very concerned about his cowering in his cage and inability to connect with anyone. Within 24-hours of our chat, Watson was making remarkable improvements, and for a while we were on biweekly phone call. Now they call me and he talks to me!

If there was one thing you'd tell pet parents as a universal truth to having pets? Something that you've seen over and over and wish pet parents knew?

Each animal — whether it's a lizard or a horse, is capable of a scope of emotions. They want to bond with their humans, and they crave the connection. Talk to them. Pet them. Give them love. Look at them in the eyes. Tell them you will keep them safe, then do it. Get your pets microchipped (if possible) and never leave them with anyone you don't trust or don't have a good feeling about. Involve them in your life, and they will love you to the end.

Some of the most important parts of pet parenthood are our memories, moments, or celebrations together. It could be adopting a pet and starting a life together, or the heartbreak when you must say goodbye. You can share your story by drafting it yourself, or hit me up to interview you. Email monpetitchewchew@gmail.com and we can get started.
