Table Scraps: Hey All You Cool Cats & Kittens
Lately, I’ve been thinking about cats. Mainly because I keep seeing luxury cat stuff on instagram (once you start liking pet profiles, all bets are off) -- so, special treats, expensive furniture, wacky toys and games -- you name it, they’re making it for cats. I recently spotted a kickstarter link for a cat board game called Cheerble (spoiler: it ain’t cheap) which definitely looks like it could keep your cat entertained for… a while? Y’all tell me. They can play, sleep, and scratch their claws in it, but we all know cats tend to gravitate more towards the box things come in.
I also discovered “Kitty Chups,” which are basically Chupa Chups for cats (anybody else remember when the Spice Girls endorsed Chupa Chups?). They come in chicken, tuna, or salmon, and you can stick ‘em on the wall at kitty cat height. They’re supposedly healthy, according to the site, but also - they got catnip in ‘em! Something your cat’s body needs anyway (jokes, I swear)!
What have you noticed about cat stuff online? I once profiled Tuft & Paw for Healthy Paws - talk about luxury. Their furniture looks better than mine, honestly. And look at these litter boxes! We had cats growing up and would keep their litter box under the bathroom sink. Each kitty learned to open the cabinet door and close it for privacy, of course, and easily hopped out when they were done. I miss those stinkers.
Tell me about your cats. What do they love? I regularly chat with Emily, my cat advisor, about her cats - Steven and Meatloaf. They both have incredibly funny and sweet personalities, My best friend Eliza has two kittyballs as well; they’re Neville and Amelie. Amelie is an old lady, and she’ll take the piss out of you at 4am singing the songs of her people. Neville (pictured) is a sweetheart who wants to snuggle and get into trouble. I love seeing them - and hopefully I can see them again soon, if the world ever reopens.
Holler at me! I ain’t got nothin’ but time right now.
