Table Scraps: Somethin' Stinks
Did someone say, CHEEEEEESE?
Well, it finally happened. My house smells like dog. There’s an easy explanation for this - I have two dogs. I recently read that Febreze isn’t kosher for pets but Snopes has disproved this - just let the mist dry before dogs can lay down on the fabric again. Also, did you know that myth started via email in 1999? Who knew! Anyway, I know plenty of people dislike Febreze because it’s not natural/organic/etc. More natural suggestions welcome, even though I’m not a Febreze-hater.
Decreasing the overall pup-stink might be in reducing the amount of dog hair on everything. My golden mix, Kitty, sheds like a champ. When I do yoga, I somehow end up getting her fur in my face (not only does she like to be RIGHTTHERE while I practice, the shedding wafts around the living room). When I vacuum, I have enough fur for a third dog. I think dogs have natural temperature regulation, so I’m anti-shaving, but maybe a brush would be okay? Maybe I should get a FURminator?
Speaking of two dogs, I was thinking about how having Little Coconut in our lives has helped Kitty so much, but me as well. I was constantly worrying about Kitty while I was at work, concerned that she was lonely. She’s so much better adjusted with a little sister. So the smell really isn’t that big of a deal, in the end. I’ll take it in exchange for all this happiness.
On that note, what’s up at your house? How are your pets doing? Sneaking in any good treats? My dogs love cheese. I once knew a cat who loved strawberries. I’d love to hear what your chickens, goats, kitties, guinea pigs, lizards, birds, puppers, and rabbits are into. Hit me up on our Facebook page or monpetitchewchew@gmail.com.
As always, stay safe, stay sane.
